SIUE emergency cell phone text message service
This website provides the option for faculty, staff, and students to either subscribe or unsubscribe from the service. By opting in, you allow SIUE to send text messages to your cell phone, notifying you of potential life-threatening situations on or near campus and informing you of university closures due to inclement weather. You have the flexibility to opt out of this service whenever you choose.
Disclaimer:
Participation in the SIUE Emergency Notification System (e-Lert) is voluntary. SIUE, the software service provider, and cell phone providers/carriers cannot and do not guarantee that text messages sent to your cell phone as part of the Service will be delivered to your cell phone or that the text messages will be delivered to your cell phone in a timely manner. You may also receive more than one text message from the Service for a particular incident and periodic "test" text messages will be sent to assure that all components of the Service are working properly. If you choose to opt-in to the SIUE Emergency Alert Service, you must have a cell phone that accepts text messages and you will be responsible for all charges incurred from your cell phone provider/carrier for cell phone messages generated by the Service.
